Dear Daddy

It has been 2 months and 5 days since the last time I saw you. I remember the last time you said that you “will be back soon.”

Oh Daddy, you promised you’d be home for Christmas and New Year, but Daddy we waited for you all day and all night, you never came. My heart is so heavy, I cried Daddy. I mean we cried. We miss you so much. I wish you were here with us Daddy. Life without you is not the same. Our home is quiet, lonely, we missed your footsteps in the hallway, your voice, your jokes. Oh Daddy we really really miss everything about you.

Daddy, you know Mommy cries every night, I can hear her. I always see her standing by the window waiting for you Daddy, she prays for you to come home safe. I know Daddy that Mommy’s heart is heavy and sad, if only Daddy you were here, everything would be all right. It would make us happy, I mean really really happy.

Mommy I love you too, it really hurts me to see you cry. I wish I could do something to make you happy. I pray every day for Daddy to come home. Oh Daddy find your way home, we need you so much. I really miss telling you what we did at school.

Oh Daddy I love you, please come home, wherever you are. I don’t know what to do anymore. Hold me tight and never let me go Daddy. I am scared Daddy, I will do everything to take care of Mommy and my little sister. Oh yeah Daddy Naya cries, too. Daddy I don’t understand why this happened. Why Daddy why? Even Mommy does not have the answers. Everybody is praying for you Daddy.

What can I do Daddy, to find the answer? What can I say?

Can someone or somebody please tell me what to do? I need friends to help me ease my pain.

Oh I almost forgot Daddy I need new glasses, but Mom just told me that she can’t afford them. They’re all scratched up, I can hardly see with them. Daddy I need you.

Always in my heart,

Shahone Shecapio
